Hooray! We are building again!
We can finally release the news that we are once again expanding and rebuilding.
See inspirational images below for what is planned for the outdoor area in front of the main entrance and at the mini golf/playground.
- Our indoor lobby will be approximately 130 sqm larger with more seating.
- We will have 12 brand new hotel rooms on two floors.
- A new outdoor area in front of the main entrance and among the playground / minigolf with mingling areas and many seats, where you will be able to have coffee, work, take an AW, and relax in the sun, as it is often also windless here.
Expansion and reconstruction will take place in stages, starting on October 1, 2025, with completion by summer 2026.
In the meantime, our usual operation will work as usual for conferences, SPA, baths, restaurants and accommodation. Warmly welcome during this time and check out what is happening and feel free to ask us.
For a short period of time, the main entrance will be moved to the port entrance. Signage for it will be in place.

As part of our renovation, we have chosen to change the name of our logo to TanumStrand SPA & Resort. With our brand, we want to draw attention to how big our facility is and that we have one of the west coast’s finest SPA with us.
What has happened?
In 2023 we started the journey with our “new” TanumStrand, where we upgraded ourselves considerably and got a resort that got a really much-needed facelift. We have rebuilt, renovated and expanded throughout 2024 and can now boast:
- 70 newly renovated hotel rooms have become modern and airy with inspiration from Bohuslän’s nature and with the feeling of the sky meeting the sea in a peaceful environment.
- All 99 cabins have been blown out and replaced with new ones in line with our concept.
- 12 self-catering cottages have been converted into hotel-standard Sea Shed Suites with sea views.
- Our entire main entrance, lobby, reception and bar have been redesigned with a food concept. Our “living room” LOBBYBAREN.
- The sea sauna has been extended and doubled in size. There are now two sauna rooms, both unisex.
- A new pool with champagne bubbles on the outdoor terrace of SPA Horizon is installed.
- Large parasols are mounted on the outdoor terrace at Sjöboden Udden to cope with slightly worse weather if you want to sit outdoors, and if it gets too hot in the sun, you should be able to sit in the shade.
- The glazed part of our outdoor seating DockSide has been renovated, where we insulated, rebuilt and got new furniture. This is to be able to extend our season and use this nice place even at colder degrees outdoors.
- The outdoor seating area at DockSide has now become a lovely beach club where we want you to be able to spend a whole day hanging out, sunbathing, swimming, eating, listening to music, cozying up and partying.
