Christmas without stress, dishes and musts – but with a sea view, Christmas dinner and lots of time together.
Christmas is about togetherness, but for many it has also become a time of stress, planning and obligations. At TanumStrand in Grebbestad, they are noticing that more people are choosing to celebrate Christmas in hotels – to escape the pressure and enjoy what really matters.
– More people want to bring the whole family together, but without everything around it – the cleaning, the food, the planning,” says Camilla Lund Andersen, COO at TanumStrand.
“Everyone can join in, whether you’re a grandmother, grandchild or friend. That’s what Christmas should be about – time together.”
Seeing everything with new eyes
Camilla has only been working at TanumStrand for a few months and still sees the place with the same eyes as a new guest.
– I can certainly understand why people return here again and again. There is something special about the tranquillity, the sea and the feel of the house. It’s warm, genuine and authentic,” she says.
She believes that more people are discovering that Christmas in a hotel is not about luxury – but about setting the right priorities.
– Christmas at home costs a lot, both in time and money. It takes the stress away and gives you time for what’s important: each other. It’s a Christmas gift the whole family gives to themselves, instead of even more gadgets.
Christmas by the sea
Celebrating Christmas by the sea is something very special.
– I love the sea, says Camilla.
“Imagine walking along the beach on Christmas Eve morning, taking a sauna and looking out over the beautiful archipelago.”
At TanumStrand, a Christmas program awaits with classic traditions: Santa Claus, dancing around the Christmas tree, Christmas lunch, a sumptuous Christmas table and activities such as spa and crayfish boil.
– It should feel like home, but better. Christmas decorations everywhere, trees in every corner and a warm feeling no matter the weather.
A new tradition
Most guests come in large family groups, but couples and friends also find their way here.
– The great thing is that it suits everyone. And once you’ve tried it, you usually want to come back next year too,” says Camilla.
She hopes that guests wake up on Christmas morning with a really good feeling:
– That tingle in your stomach. Seeing the sea, feeling the anticipation and eating a breakfast someone else made. It’s warmth, joy and time together – just like Christmas should be.
And her advice to those in doubt?
– Just come! Take the chance and feel that we take care of you. We promise, you won’t regret it.
