Experience the world’s most beautiful archipelago from a kayak
Have you long dreamed of experiencing and exploring our archipelago from the front row, that is, the cockpit of a kayak. Take the chance and join Skärgårdsidyllen on a guided tour in one of the world’s most beautiful archipelagos according to CNN and many with us.
The tour starts at the kayak center in Grönemad, Grebbestad unless otherwise agreed and starts with a briefing before we head down to the beach and then out among cobs and skerries on a 2 to 4 hour long tour, with beach cuts on a suitable island based on weather and wind where we offer coffee or lunch depending on the length of the tour.
Food is part of our culture
We cherish the local and what the season has to offer. In summer, lunch usually consists of smoked mackerel. This is served with fresh bread from the local bakery, local products from Greby’s dairy and other local delicacies in the form of seaweed crackers, Grebbestad beer and other local favorites.
The refreshments offered on the tour are also seasonal.
Grebbestad is world famous for its oysters and during the tour we will get to know the oysters in their natural environment. Our guides will also share their knowledge of the wildlife above and below the surface. In winter there is a good chance of seeing eider and in spring the popular oystercatcher and if we are lucky we will also see a seal along our tour.
The aim of the tour is to give you a pleasant introduction to paddling and our beautiful archipelago. The tour is held all year round and during September to May the tour is offered with dry suit under the name winter paddling.
Prerequisites
You do not need any prior knowledge. However, we assume that you are able to swim and that you are at least 15 years old. If you are younger than 15, you can paddle a double kayak. The tour itself is an introduction to kayaking where we continuously practice the basic skills you need. You can bring water, sunglasses, swimming/neoprene shoes and a change of clothes.

We meet and start from the beach at TanumStrand where you get a safety briefing and necessary instructions to be able to paddle a tour.
The guide is primarily in Norwegian.

TanumStrand are also proud members of Hållbar Skärgård. They are a non-profit organization that wants to make it easy for you to stay in the archipelago. In their map you will find, among other things, where you can go to the toilet, where you can sleep, where there is drinking water and much more!
