Join us along the beautiful Bohus coast for a meaningful and practical team building experience with CleanSea!
Together we will remove marine plastics, ghost fishing gear and other litter that harms marine life. An eye-opening, educational and unexpectedly fun activity.
Once the cleanup is complete, CleanSea presents the total impact of the group. A moment filled with big smiles, high fives and team spirit! Then we round off with reflection, group photos and a coastal coffee worthy of real sea heroes.
What we want to achieve at cleanup events:
– Learning about the sea and the problem of marine plastic, and a lot of engagement with participants.
– Create strong impressions with participants. We want people to leave with the feeling that we really contributed to an important effort for marine animals together.
– Positive and fun content, which participants take away as a souvenir from the event.
Arrangements for cleanup events:
There are different arrangements depending on the place we are going to clean, what you as a company want to achieve, and the number of participants. CleanSea has cleanup events with anything from 10 – 100+ people on the coastline. 1.5 hours – 3 hours, sometimes with a boat trip as part of the event, and sometimes professional video creators making impressive videos. As different companies have different goals to achieve, it is recommended to have an initial meeting with the company to analyze and find the right set-up before nailing down the arrangement.
Standard approach:
- Presentation (15 min): Presentation from CleanSea to create engagement and sense of importance in this. CleanSea talks about plastic in the ocean, where it comes from, what impact on marine animals, about CleanSea and how a cleanup works and safety. This takes place either before departure from the hotel or on site at the CleanUp site.
- Equipment (5 min): We gather at the site we are going to clean, and here CleanSea distributes equipment to all participants. (Gloves, bags, bags to collect in, and litter pickers.)
- Cleanup time (90 min): We collect as much plastic, fishing gear, glass, metal and other trash as we can from the coastline. CleanSea leads the group, answers questions, and focuses on photos and simple video creation.
- Plastic weighing + summary (10 min): When we have cleaned for about 90 minutes, we collect all the garbage we have collected in bags that CleanSea weighs and documents. CleanSea gives a final presentation on the result, showing what we found + exciting findings, what difference this makes to marine wildlife, and builds a sense of positivity and pride in the group. We also take team pictures when we celebrate, high fives and hands in the air!
- Victory coffee (15 min): We have coffee on the coastline together, or go back to the hotel/other location for lunch/dinner. Here CleanSea collects all equipment from participants.
CleanSea - 100 for the ocean
Since 2019, CleanSea has carried out more than 850 cleanups on different beaches and removed over 110,000 kg of marine litter. They have now identified the 100 worst bays on the west coast. Bays that are particularly vulnerable due to ocean currents. They have now started the project “100 For The Ocean”, and will get 100 different companies to “adopt” one bay each. Together we will make a huge contribution to Sweden’s west coast!
In collaboration with CleanSea – we at TanumStrand have “adopted” a bay – GLIKILEN in Grebbestad – where we support Cleansea in their work to clean beaches.
