Sustainability at Tanumstrand
Here you will find the work we do and who we work with for a sustainable future with environmental thinking in focus.
We work actively every day to ensure that both our staff and our guests go the extra mile for our environment.
For example, we do not clean your room every day if you stay with us for more than 1 night. If you need cleaning, clean towels or bedding, just let us know and we will arrange it.
If we all help each other in small steps, it will be a big step in the big picture.

When you choose us, you choose a resort that carries the official Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
We work actively with environmental and sustainability issues with the support of the Nordic Ecolabel’s comprehensive criteria.

Do you also want to contribute to a cleaner and nicer Bohuslän?
Then you are in good company. Together, we are a bunch of organizations and municipalities that have joined forces in the Keep Bohuslän Clean initiative. Together we can keep litter away from our beautiful nature.

We are connected to Klimato and use their app that makes it easy to calculate the climate impact of the food we serve.
We calculate the exact climate impact of the meal based on ingredients, production method and country of origin.

Hållbarhetsklivet is West Sweden’s overall initiative for a sustainable tourism industry. Here we act as a destination together with other public and private actors in West Sweden to convert to a sustainable society in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Together, we create economically viable businesses and tourism that does not lead to unnecessary environmental impact and is appreciated by both residents and visitors.

TanumStrand are proud members of HållbarSkärgård!
Hållbar skärgård is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to make it easy for you to stay in the archipelago. During the high season, there are many curious visitors who want to discover the fantastic environment around Bohuslän, which leads to high pressure on the already fragile nature for a short period.

One of Europe’s most littered areas is here in Bohuslän, Sweden. If you look out from there – or from any of Sweden’s coasts – you can be sure there’s always something there. Even if you don’t always see it. Namely, plastic.
The reason why so much debris ends up here is the ocean currents and prevailing winds, with the west coast receiving several hundred tons of debris annually from all over the world.
